Well That was yesterday's maximum temperature at Delhi(the highest till now for the season)...It is just mid April, but the mercury is already sky high...Pata nahi baki Summers mein kya haal hoga...

Today I also managed to observe a few more numbers since I wasn't feeling sleepy in the morning (Only God knows the why and how..) and did not go off to sleep in the bus. I observed that our bus driver took 13 minutes to cover the 5-6 km of travelling in Delhi from my stop (South Ex-1) + 6 km of the DND Flyway + waiting + paying the toll at DND too..
Further he covered the 23 km of Noida-Greater Noida Expressway + 4-5 km within Greater Noida in 30 minutes... No wonder he is one of the fastest drivers at ST. USki bhi galti nahi...our bus covers the route from Greater Noida to Gurgaon via Delhi (one of the longest route that any ST bus covers)..agar fast nahi chalayega..to din bhar road par hi hoga..

And another number info for you. My PS Diary for this week has been written in 5 minutes and 40 seconds flat.(because we were suddenly told that she was coming today..)

ST @ ST, the PS continues

The first awaited weekend after the PS has started. Awaited, because this week we went to the office for the five days while last week, we had just gone for a couple of the days and so that weekend wasn't that awaited like this one was….

Anyways my company has provided us with company buses, which come to pick us up way too early. The last stop of my bus is the one I get-on from, and the bus comes at 7:50 AM. So just imagine what time it starts from Gurgaon which is the first stop.( Well the answer is 6:45 AM…just imagine people board the bus at that ungodly hours, campus mein to itni subah uthte bhi nahi the ;) ).

I generally go sleeping in the bus and it gets us to ST at around 9, then go for breakfast, then go to the office, system to de diya hai, but net is not given to trainees( the mentor has to log you in for you to access net…).

Then we work with frequent breaks in between, paas mein hi ek Monginis type multi-vending machine lagi hui hai, chai-coffee to kafi often pi lete hai.

Lunch is quite good, but line mein lagg ke plates uthana feels just like Sarath Mess, infact plates bhi kafi similar hai..anyways food is subsidized, and costs just 5 rupees for us. If we take the sweet, it costs just 11 bucks. After the heavy lunch and TT ( or sometimes just a walk and lazing around in the lawns ( dilli ki sardi mein the sun feels quite nice unlike in Goa where it used to literally seem killing…)

A nice analogy given by Sanket, another PS mate from Pilani it feels just like a school-subah school bus mein baitho, class ke beech mein breaks lo, interval mein khana khaa ke ghas mein baitho, aur phir bus mein hi wapas aa jao…

We have 16 people from Pilani here while only 3 of us from Goa. By the way Mentor Graphics PS has just got cancelled and so those students have been allotted ST. And so we are now 17+5 students at ST.

Waise shaam mein, the ST bus takes around 27 minutes to do what the local private buses took more than an hour on the zeroeth day (Read here). n I'm lovin it ;)- Sote hue jaao, sote hue aao :)

Kam bhi mila hai thoda, have to go through a firmware user-manual for 3/5 Megapixel camera for Nokia Mobile phones. Abhi am going throught that manual, aage kya karma hai pata chalega…

Chalo phir sone ka time hone waala hai..kal phir wapas jaldi uthna hai :(

Countdown to PS II

Well PS II starts tommorow, and its time to arrange the stuff I need to take to PS. I dunno why but people at ST have been told to get an updated resume, photographs, an ID proof ( license, voter i-card- apparently my BITS ID card is not good enough a proof for my identity ;) ). So I am busy running around try to find my voter id card ( yes yes I have a voter id card, though being in Goa, i missed my chance to vote :P ). Also I can't seem to find my damned PS diary.

Also its the end of the chilled out days @ home ( well literally, the minimum temperature has been hovering around in single digits since the past few days...)

It is also the end of an era, all of us heading out to different places- Me at Noida, Vishal at Babrala, Vishrut at Bangalore, Pandey at Pune and Phodu at Singapore( Rampur to Singapore :P ). Also Meet and Abhay back at campus, with their placements starting soon, I do hope companies are coming( waise Abhay ko BITS Pilani Goa Campus Placement division ki koi zaroorat nahi-he has been placed @ Amazon for 11LPA - highest placement :) - aur ab do-chaar EEEnI and chemical walo ko to Abhay adopt karne ki soch raha hai ;) ).

Chalo, I have to go, Vishal pahuchne wala hai, we'll both go for registration together tomm and then its bye bye to him too. :(

Nearly there...

Well, its nearly the end...PS 2 forms for the first sem 2008-2009 are now out.. :(


n its a good week for me..After the gud marks, the lab exam for Analog has been postponed to next week and so has the Communication System lab exam..though we still have a quiz on Thursday....


Am planning to go jogging tomorrow morning and am trying to become regular but I never feel like leaving m bed in the morning :(

So am going to sleep early so that I can try to wake up early....

Well, if two months ago..u would have told me..that the PS is gonna be like this..i would have definetely told you..."bas bas"...



but it has turned out like that....I was just thinking of wat to write in my PS diary(..yes we r supposed to fill a yellow couloured 50 page diary..n also as a fact Vishrut( read: BIHARI) has filled nearly the whole diary..n has been told off by all four of us for doing so....).

I don't know what to write...should i write abt the time we went to the mall during office hours,or my Dehradun trip in middle of the PS....or all five of us sitting in Vishrut''s cubicle(browsing the net)...or the little crap i found out abt the NO LOAD TESTERS...(my so called project...)

PS has been a gr8 experience..its not over yet though..got to work on a really cool machine..doing a practical course of ES II, asking question whose answerswe already knew to the everyone else during thier presentations, giving GD's etc...however rite now..am searching for material to include in my report which i have to submit in a couple of days n give a presentation...so rite now its GOOGLE baba ki jai...

The days that follow..

ok..life goes on(..n so does the PS)..n heres how they go by...

We are supposed to reach at 9..we do so by 9:30....

The office is supposed to end at 5 pm..We r home by 4 (thats on tue,thurs n sat...yes saturdays r working too...bt we've managed to convert that to a holiday...) cause our instructor comes to the office on these days only and on rest of the days we r back after just a couple of hours in the office by abt 12 pm....

And in between....the lunch break for the staff is for an hour..we have a 2 hr lunch break n after that too we need n't go back to work....Most of the time is spent in Vishrut's cubicle...( ya he's gt a cubicle n AC....n net connection too....) while I and Yash have to work on the assembly line...luckily the machine i am supposed to study n work on...too needs an AC..so most of the time we r working is spent here....

The machine i have been assigned to is called NLT( ...No Load testers for those who haven't done ES GC 272 Electrical Sciences 2....) The importance of this can be gauged frm the fact that this is the only electrical testing that is done on the motors...i generaly spend the time staring at the machine..its actually a gr8 machine..imported etc...bt jitna bhi mai research karoon uske baare mein..my co ordinator says ""Go into more depth..."..so i have stopped trying....

rest all is masti....will write more after GD tomm...

The First day....

okay..my PS is at GE motors Faridabad....this is my experience of the first day..i.e 24th may 2007..

All pressed n dressed...luckily had already talked to the ps instructor cause he wasnt responding to his mails we had sent on his bits mail id...( guess this guy too doesnt use his bits-mail.. ;))...n cause we had to know the time for reporting cause this company doesnt start working upto 9:30 n employees keep coming uptill 10-10:30 am...
We were finally supposed to reach at 9:30....

9:30 am
Reached punctually...no sign of the teacher...find the rest of the guys there.. Vishrut, Akshay Yash n Vikram also came in till 9:45...however the teacher hadnt arrived...

10:30 am
We finally got our respective departments to report to..n no two of us was in the same deptt..Vishrut was given IT, Akshay was in production, Yash in the assebly line, Vikram in R&D n i was in manufacturing....
Anyways we went to our coords to report to them...n till that time too our instructor hadnt reported...
My coord just told me to go around the plant the first couple of days...

11:30am
Finally the instructor arrived...we reported to him..he told us the basic rules etc..all the stuff abt quizes, gd etc...n told us to report back to our coords...

1230 pm
My lunch time...we all had diff lunch times..bt now we have managed n i had a 2 hr lunch break...cause me n yash see the assembly line..so the workers go for lunch at 1230..n we couldnt do anything after that...n staff has lunch frm 1:30-2:30 pm..so we have lunch then..

4:00 pm..
We all met at the reception n came to know that Vishrut, Akshay n Vikrams instructors hadnt come so they were all free..so we all sat down n waited for our instructor who had told us that he would come back frm JBM Auto..( another PS stn under him...) at abt 4...

4:45 pm
The instructor hadnt still turned up...so Akshay called him up..made some excuse abt some ficticious family function n we all left for home....


Generally our instructor comes thrice a week...n we have to do some work..go around the plants etc whuile the rest of the days...its just masti...
PS is going gr8 till now...though i did learn a few things..n i am sure so have the others..n its gr8 masti....

n m gonna miss it when it ends ;)

PS1.....

ok..PS1 is Practice school 1 for those of you who do not know it....

After 2nd yr BITSians have to do an industrial training for 5-6 weeks to get industrial exposure....well there was a lot of speculation about who will get which ps station n who all will b together..after all everyone needs a good partner ;)

well the list is finally out...n most ppl have gt a good ps station..with lotsa frnds together....
this is summer is gonna be a BIG PARTY....



btw i got GE Motors Faridabad...with Vishrut and Akshay....so GEMi...watch out..here we come...
