Another Saturday afternoon n as i sat writing (yet another) Communication report..n wondering wat my life has become...this poem came in as a PM on DC...n its sort of relevant to what I was thinking..

Engineer woh hain
jo aksar fasta hai
interviews ke sawaal me
badi companiyon ke jal me
boss aur client ke bawaal me
engineer woh hai
jo pak gaya hai
meetings ki jhelai me
submissions ki gehraai me
teamwork ki chataai me
engineer woh hai
jo laga rahta hai
sechdule ko fislane me
targets ko khiskane me
roz naye naye bahane banaane me

jo lunch time me breakfast leta hai
dinner time me lunch karta hai
aur
commutation ke waqt soya karta hai

jo paagal hai
chai aur samose ke pyaar mey
birdwatching ke wichaar mey

na milne wale hisab me
behtar bhavisya ke khwab me

kabhi Interviews ke sawaal mey phasta hai , kabhi Badi companiyon ke jaal
mey phasta hai, kabhi boss aur client ke bawaal mey fasta hai.
Project office ki bheed to dekhi hogi aapne rathore saab... us bheed mein
se ko bhi chehra chun lijie.. mein vo hoon..

How is life going on? And where are you these days?
I read your blog. What you have told is true for almost all of us ,the engineers and the legacy continues.It will change only when we take the decision of becoming an engineer from our heart and not under any pressure or seeing others.In making this decision, one of the very important decisions of life, our parents play a major role,although not wholly.
Even during our engineering and after completing it, we can change our fate.It all depends on us.

I completely agree with what you have said...most children become engineers and doctors more so becuase they don't know what else to become.. Parental pressure is also a important factor...but it is changing these days
